Logan Davis took first place. He dominated every match.
He dominated from the very beginning of every match. He
scored immediate near falls and pins. He had some
competition in his last match which can only improve him for
the future. He continues to show great improvement in leaps
and bounds.
Dustin Largent took second place by showing improved
strategic wrestling. He was extremely aggressive and
showed great determination, which paid off with his first 2
victories of the year.
Thomas Jones took third place even though it is believed he
should have been awarded the second place medal due to
the fact that inexperienced referees were not awarding
near fall points that were achieved. We feel that Thomas
won 2 matches this weekend and not 1. With hard work
and determination Thomas has shown improvement in all his
wrestling skills.
One Great Wrestling Weekend
Saturday we went to Amboy Little Kids Tournament. We
had a great time. Our placers are as follows:
Jeffrey Dodd 3rd place (way to escape!)
Dustin Largent 3rd place (great effort!)
Logan Davis 1st place (the usual storm!)
Alex Dozal 4th place (his 1st tournament)
Coty Myers 3rd place (1st win,1st pin)
Sergio Diaz 4th place (always learning)
Sunday was the Dean's Classic in Harvard, IL. It was a
tough tournament. There was a very high caliber of
wrestlers that participated in this tournament. Everyone
showed great improvement and everyone learned something
new. We were excited to see some of our high school
wrestlers from Jefferson participating in this tournament.
They always show amazing encouragement for our kids club.
