Drilling your moves builds muscle memory.  Eventually
you don't have to think about the moves; the body
just reacts.  It's similar to the ability to perform
repetitive tasks without thinking about doing it.  Like
tying your shoe.

Practice does not make perfect; perfect practice
makes perfect.

You don't have to be able to do everything.  
However, what you do know and use you must know
perfectly.
